Welcome to the website for the East Dorset Branch Bellringers. We are one of several branches of the larger Salisbury Diocesan Guild of Ringers, and our area stretches from Swanage in the south-east of the county to the Wiltshire border in the north-east of the county.
The East Dorset Branch, originally called the ‘Wimborne Branch’, is amongst the largest in the Guild, covering an area of 300 square miles and containing more than 40 towers. We have a wide variety of towers given the huge area, including quaint village towers and larger town churches, including three former monasteries. We are fortunate to have in our branch the Purbeck Hills, Jurassic Coast, Sandbanks Peninsula and Cranborne Chase AONB, all of which provide stunning settings for our towers. We even have a tower that is only accessible by boat! Wherever you’re ringing, you’re sure of a warm welcome.
